Children & Families:

My background training and specialism is in supporting children, adolescents and their families. I have over 20 years of experience working in an NHS Child and Family Team, as well as across school settings and in private practice.

Post-covid, children and adolescents are facing an epidemic of emotional distress and I am highly specialised in the provision of support to help navigate this. I work with the family system and often with parents directly to help them optimally support their child.

There are a number of childhood transitions and challenges that I am experienced in supporting including:

  • Behavioural challenges

  • Navigating new or existing sibling relationships

  • Starting primary or secondary school

  • Toileting

  • Difficulties with eating & sleeping

  • Anxiety including school refusal, symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder, emetophobia (vomiting), needle phobia and generalised anxiety

  • Low mood

  • Navigating separating families

Adolescence has always been a tumultuous time marked by rapid physical, emotional, social and bodily changes. At present, teenagers are facing unprecedented challenges navigating social media, gaming and increased uncertainty in the world and it’s no wonder that there is so much to cope with. I offer a safe, compassionate space to adolescents to help support their emotional regulation, validating their experiences and to develop strategies to better cope in stressful times. With permission, I offer space to both parents and teenagers to help with difficult conversations.
